This scanned slide came out a lot darker than it should have, but it
shows me (in the shadows) working on another project with Bronze Age wall
paintings. This time the frescoes are even older (about 3500 years
old), and come from the Minoan culture.
As you can see from the hundreds of storage boxes in the background,
archaeological excavation produces a lot of material, and only some of
it ever gets published. Rather than excavating a site, I prefer to
"excavate" in the museums. It's amazing what a person can find!
The results of this study were published in the1997 Annual
of the British School at Athens.
