"There is no end to the story, only a beginning and a middle"

Welcome all!! My name is Heather. I am 22 years old and I grew up in Hamburg, PA. It is a little town an hour northeast of Philadelphia. I am currently a senior at Brevard College, Brevard, NC. I am a Health Science Studies major with minors in Biology and Chemistry. After I graduate I plan on going to Graduate school for Microbiology. Please do not ask me where because I still have no idea.

But that is still a while away..so let me tell you what I am involved in on campus here...it is very entertaining.

I am the President and founder of the Brevard College Affiliates of the American Chemical Society. I founded the organization in Spring 2004 and it is still running strong today.

I have been a member of Presidential Circle since 2003 and was honored in 2004 by being named Presidential Circle member of the year and was recently elected President of Presidential Circle. Presidential Circle members are student ambassadors with the extended responsibility of not just talking with perspective students but also with Alumni and Trustees.

I was inducted into Beta Beta Beta National Biological Honorary Society as a full member. However I have been with Beta Beta Beta since 2003 and am currently serving as the Secretary/Treasurer. I was also elected Vice-President of District One.

Recently I have been awarded a grant to perform an independent research project. I am researching acne bacteria. I have two typical antibiotics, one is known to cause drug resistance, the other one, the company is claiming that drug resistance will not occur...We will see! This new antibiotic is a derivative the the antibiotic that develops drug resistance. It should prove to be an interesting experiment which I will present in April at the District convention and be published with my results!

Fall of 2004, I was a First Year Forum student leader with Scott Sheffield and Bianca Mitchell.

I am also a House Representative of the Student Government where I diligently represent my club.

Since the Spring of 2004, I have worked for Ann Etters in Office Services as my work study job. Working and schooling are a tough combination but I have excelled at both.

Since I have been here I have been on the Honor Roll in Fall 2002, Spring 2003, and Spring 2004. I achieved Dean’s List last two semesters with a GPA of 3.95. The only time I missed Honor Roll was Fall 2003.

Spring semester 2005, I was honored by the faculty here by being selected as a 2005 Who’s Who among American College and Universities.

There are many aspects of my life which I share with those few close friends. One of them is that I like to write poetry, I am not so good at it, but it is a good way to express my thoughts. I am addicted to movies. I have a large DVD collection, so feel free to come over a borrow one.

Below you will find links to a tigers web page I made two years ago, a power point on Cleopatra's Palace, a way to contact me, and a web page about my trip to Greece over this past summer. I hope you enjoy it, I know I did.
