RUTHERFORD COLLEGE President Alonzo C. Reynolds (1870-1953) Fourth president of Rutherford College. His tenure spanned 1903-1905. He later served as superintendent of Buncombe County Schools, 1905-1912, and became the second president of Cullowhee Normal and Industrial School (now Western Carolina University) in 1912.
