This summer I had the opportunity to do a good deal of hiking in the forests surrounding Brevard, and I thought I’d create a list of suggestions (with directions from the College) for various hikes and healthy activities. * I have also put together a Wellness Calendar and Resource List for Brevard College and area events, activities and businesses.
For information about mountain biking in the Brevard area, check

Canoeing or Kayaking at HeadwatersOutfitters
Another idea for the water enthusiasts. If the weather is nice
and you are interested in kayaking or canoeing, you might want to try out
this web site http://www.headwatersoutfitters.com
(or call 877-3106 for details and reservations). You can take a 3
hour canoe trip for as little as $20.00 per person. It is a nice trip,
but it is unsupervised, and you, of course, are responsible for your own
safety. But canoes and kayaks are provided, a brief training is conducted,
and you are shuttled to and from the French Broad River. There are
also float trips available.
