Driving directions**: From the college, drive right on Broad Street for several miles until you get to the Pisgah Forest intersection (near the Wal-Mart store). Turn left into Pisgah Forest (Route 276N). Continue for about 6.7 miles until you come to a parking area on the right (it is about 1 mile past Looking Glass Falls). You will see a wooden bridge on the right side of 276. This is where you begin the trail. It is about 1.4 miles round trip and should be 30-45 minutes or so.
Hiking directions: This hike is a fairly easy hike, but begins with a fairly steep up hill climb for a short while. The trail will then level out and gently follow an up and down terrain. The trail will cross a stream several times. Moore Cove Falls form a ledge, so you can walk behind the falls. Total length one-way to the falls is .7 miles. The falls are a height of about 50 feet. The trail is especially pretty when the rhododendrons bloom, when wild flowers bloom in the spring, during fall colors, and even when there are icicles in the winter. A short distance downstream from this falls another stream joins from the west. Follow it for a few hundred feet and you will see a similar falls about 1/2 the size of Moore Cove Falls. Moore Cove Falls is about 50 feet high, has been rated as a 7 (of 10) on a "beauty" scale by Kevin Adams.
