Yearly membership is $2.  Dues are payable in Sept. or at the second hike with Pisgah Hikers. Driver's Fees:  Typical drivers fees are $0.50 to $5.00.  This is based on $.25/mile or $.30 per mile, depending on the price of gas, and is to help defray the cost to the drivers.
Hikers having known health problems are responsible for bringing whatever medications or remedies that they may require to insure their personal safe passage, with a minimum delay to themselves and to the rest of the group, during and after the hike.  New hikers should notify a committee person of any health problems that they may have and of the remedies they will bring.  Hikes may be switched without advanced notice when weather/road conditions dictate.

Please take your personal physical capabilities into consideration when selecting your hikes, especially on Wednesdays and Fridays!  The total length, elevation change, climb and difficulty rating (R1 easiest to R10 most difficult) are listed with each hike and should be helpful in making your decision.  Wear Hiking Boots, Bring lunch. Bring water.

No pets or smoking, or unaccompanied children under 18 are permitted on the hikes. Note:  Don't be a minute person!  Don't be left behind!  You should show up no later than 15 minutes before the start times indicated in the schedules.
Description for Monday Strollers:

Monday hikes are at a slower pace, have more moderate amount of climb and have more frequent stops than do the others.  They are usually less than 5 miles in length.  the regular start time is 9:30 a.m.

Description for Wednesday Striders:

Somewhat faster than Mondays, the number of "catching your breath" stops are less frequent and many hikes are 5 or miles in length (but generally less than 7 miles).  The regular start time is 9:30 a.m.

Friday Hoofers:  The most strenuous of the three groups, these hikes are at a faster pace, have fewer stops, are generally more than 7 miles in length and often exceed 1000' of climb (some over 3000').  You should try out the Monday and Wednesday hikes before trying out the Friday ones, and contact Dave Gunther, 884-5236 or Paul Schuette, 891-6300.
